The Radford Fund is the annual giving program of Radford University generously supported by alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends.   Funds received can be used immediately to meet Radford University ’s most important needs and priorities and support initiatives of RU 7-17 strategic plan.  The Radford Fund is the administrative umbrella for all the annual giving programs at RU and is the bridge that joins private support with the needs of the university.

What is RU 7-17 strategic plan?
The strategic plan is a ten-year blueprint to position Radford University as one of the nation’s leading public comprehensive institutions.
RU 7-17 initiatives support scholarships, athletics, student programs, campus safety, and strengthening college and graduate programs.  

Does Alumni Participation Matter?
Yes! Strong alumni participation in the Radford Fund each year is a valuable measure of RU pride. The percentage of alumni who make annual gifts is also a factor in college rankings by such national ranking agencies as U.S. News and World Report and Kaplan/Newsweek.  Placing well in these rankings greatly enhances the value and prestige of a Radford University degree.  Alumni participation rates also help draw the financial support that Radford receives from foundations.

Why are donations to the Radford Fund important?
Today, state and federal funds cover less than 34 percent of the cost of a Radford education. The remaining funds come from tuition and private support from donors.  The more donor support RU receives, the more affordable an RU education is for our students.

The Radford Fund is Flexible
Participation at any level of giving is encouraged. The Radford Fund is comprised of gifts from $10 to $10,000 and positively affects Radford University students every day.

Doubling the Impact of Your Gift
Many employers sponsor matching gift programs that will match any charitable contributions made by their employees. Depending on your employer’s program, your contribution to the Radford Fund may be doubled or possibly tripled.
